Our Reward

A wise woman recently said to me, “ I’m so glad you love children, they are all we can take with us to heaven!” A profound truth that’s rarely thought about in its entirety. It made my job as a mom that more endearing, knowing I’m pouring myself into the only treasures I will take with me to heaven.

“19 (B)“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 (C)but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Ephesians 6:19-21

Look in every Sunday school class on a Wednesday night and Sunday morning, there you will find treasures! Along with the people pouring the love and knowledge of Jesus into our kids.

Every school teacher makes their life effort to better the lives of their students. Treasure! The woman who walks my daughter into school every morning, our treasure and hero.

The people working tirelessly and giving generously to support orphans around the world. Treasures.

This is the most important work! If you want to see Jesus, if you want to grow closer to Jesus, then serve,  care for and protect His precious children. Our precious children.

And just so we’re all aware, these precious children grow into adults. And we haven’t lost our preciousness to God. So as His greatest command to us is, love others, as we are all gifts from God.

This Christmas Season, pour your love into the children around you. Let them see the love of

Christ and the true meaning of Christmas, that one gift God gave to us all, a little babe in a manger to save the world!

Merry Christmas!
